We recently had a teacher from Falmouth university come into the college to talk to design students i.e. photography students, art, fashion and product design, about what the university has to offer. He talked about the types of courses they hold, what the accommodation was like, how much a place in the uni will cost and what you will need to have/do to get a place. In particular, he talked about the range of photography equipment the university have for students to use, from lenses to tripods to cameras. As well as this, he informed us that there are some different types of photography courses. The uni offers potential students the chance to study Marine and Natural History Photography, Press and Editorial photography and just Photography in general. One thing which stood out to me during his chat, was how, due to the location of the university being in Cornwall by the sea, photography students at the university get the opportunity to go scuba diving and take shoots/photographs of the wildlife and scenery underneath the water. The reason this stood out to me is because I can't think many schools or universities have the oportunity to offer this because they don't have the location or facilities.
